This is one of those automation-ish projects that took on a life of its own.
My successful goal is a web script to tell me whether my Ubuntu Linux web server needs Ubuntu updates.
The basic output is "Y***" or "N / Y" or such indicating security and then standard updates. I'm not hiding the actual script, but you shouldn't ever be able to use it successfully because I've spent a lot of time securing the information. You can of course use the script on your own site to see real output. The link above is to the source code.
Install the script with "$ sudo php updates.php" and then give it http://.../updates.php?key=example within the time limit to activate a cookie.
I'll probably have more to say on this later, but it's time to get to immediately paid work, as opposed to this maybe attracting paid work in the unknown future.
